Nature and Wildlife

Cabo Matapalo is famous for its efforts to protect nature. Many of the places where people stay, like lodges and cabins, use solar energy. This helps them get power from the sun, which is good for the environment.

The beaches here have even earned the Blue Ecological Flag. This special award means that the area works hard to keep its nature untouched. It also shows they are trying to reduce their "carbon footprint." This means they try to lessen the impact that people visiting or living there have on the environment.

Playa Matapalo has quiet, untouched beaches. You can find lots of plants and animals there. Keep an eye out for howler monkeys and many different kinds of birds!
