Caldes d'Estrac (also known as Caldetes) is a small town in Catalonia, Spain. It is located right on the coast, which means it has beautiful beaches. The town is part of the Maresme area, which is a region in the Barcelona province.
Caldes d'Estrac is situated between two other towns, Sant Vicenç de Montalt and Arenys de Mar. You can easily reach it by the main N-II road or by train, as it has its own railway station.
History of Caldes d'Estrac
Caldes d'Estrac was once a very popular place for holidays. Between 1875 and the 1920s, many wealthy families from Barcelona came here. They loved the town's thermal baths, which use natural hot spring water, and its lovely beaches.
How the Town Changed
Over time, Caldes d'Estrac has changed. In the 1960s, a large road was built over parts of the town. Later, in the 1990s, many new houses were built. These changes made the town busier and less quiet than it used to be.
