The California Avocado Society is a special group that helps people who grow avocados in Southern California. It's a non-profit group, which means it doesn't try to make money for itself. Instead, it helps avocado growers learn about growing avocados, selling them, and new discoveries. The society started in 1915 as the California Avocado Association. In 1941, its name changed to the California Avocado Society.

What the Society Does

The California Avocado Society helps avocado growers in many ways. They set up meetings and classes to teach growers new things. These events also help growers, sellers, and experts meet each other.

In 2015, the society celebrated its 100th birthday! That year was also their 100th yearly meeting. The society still publishes a special book each year called a yearbook. Members who pay their fees get this book for free. They also get an email newsletter called The Weekly Newsline.
