Callaghan is a small ranching community located in Webb County, Texas, in the United States. It was started in 1881. The community got its name from a nearby ranch owned by Charles Callaghan. Later, Joe B. Finley owned the ranch.

History of Callaghan

Long ago, Callaghan was an important place for shipping cattle. It was a stop on the International and Great Northern Railroad. This railroad helped move cattle from ranches to other places. Today, Callaghan is still a ranching community. It even has its own small airport, the Callaghan Ranch Airport.
