Calvillo is a city in the Mexican state of Aguascalientes. It is the main town of the surrounding municipality of Calvillo. Calvillo is the second largest city in the state. Only the capital city of Aguascalientes is bigger. It is about 52 kilometers (32 miles) away from the capital. You can find Calvillo in the southwestern part of the state at 21°51′N 102°43′W / 21.850°N 102.717°W. People from Calvillo are called "calvillenses".

As of 2010, Calvillo had a total population of 19,742 people. The city has faced floods in the past, in 1991 and 2008.

Calvillo has many interesting places for visitors to explore.
Historic Buildings
- Main Square: This square was built in 1778. It is famous for its many orange trees.
- Temple of Our Lord of the Salitre: This church was built in 1772. Inside, you can see beautiful religious paintings. The church has a very large and special dome. It is one of only five domes like it in the world. The dome's inside shows amazing paintings about the life of St. Joseph. He is the city's patron saint.
- Guadalupe Temple: This is another important church in Calvillo. It has impressive towers.
Nature and Adventure
- Malpaso Dam: This is an interesting place to visit outside the city.
- Sierra del Laurel: This mountain range is south of Calvillo. It is part of the Sierra Fría mountains. Rock climbers love it because of its steep sides.
- La Cordorniz Dam: This dam is also nearby.
- Ex-convent of the Tepozán: This old convent is found in a gully. At the bottom, there is a rocky area with ancient cave paintings. These prehistoric paintings show different figures in many colors. They were made at different times long ago.
Local Crafts and Economy
- Traditional Embroidery: Close to the dams, in the town of La Panadera, people still practice old crafts. They make beautiful embroidery and "deshilados" (unthreading work). This is a very special craft of the state.
- Guava Capital: Calvillo is known as the "world capital of the guava." The city leads Mexico in guava exports.
- Guava Products: Calvillo is famous for its delicious sweets and drinks made from guava fruit. You can try these at the Guava Fair. This fair happens during the first week of December.
- Economy: The economy in Calvillo mainly focuses on guava farming. But there are also other types of farming and a lot of trade.
