Camp Springs, Kentucky facts for kids
Camp Springs is a small, unincorporated community located in Campbell County, Kentucky, United States. It is about ten miles (16 kilometers) southeast of Cincinnati, Ohio. In the mid-1800s, many families from Germany moved to this area. They came from the Rhine River wine regions.
A Look Back: Camp Springs' Story
A group of immigrants from southwest Germany settled in rural Campbell County. They started farms and planted many vineyards. Vineyards are places where grapes are grown, often for making wine.
These early settlers built many unique buildings using stone. Their building style was very special and different. It gave the area a unique look. Because of their unique design, many of these local properties were added to a special list. This list is called the United States National Register of Historic Places. They were added to this important list in 1983. This recognized their historical and architectural value.
