Campbell Jackson's Darts Journey
Campbell Jackson started playing darts professionally in 2001. He became known for his skills in the sport.
Early Wins and Big Tournaments
In 2010, Campbell won an important competition called the Ireland Players Championship. He beat another player, Shane O'Connor, with a score of 6–2 in the final match. The next year, in 2011, he almost won the Players Championship Grand Final. He played well but lost 6–3 to Damien O'Driscoll in the final game.
In January 2013, Campbell tried to get a full-time spot on the PDC tour. This meant he wanted to play in more big tournaments. He went to something called Qualifying School. On the third day, he won six matches in a row. His last win was a close 6–5 victory against Ryan de Vreede. This win earned him a "tour card," which allowed him to play in many PDC events for two years.
Campbell also got to play in the UK Open for the first time in 2013. However, he was defeated 5–2 by Connie Finnan in an early round. He also qualified for his first European Tour event, the Austrian Darts Open. There, he lost 6–4 to Wayne Jones in his first match.
His best performance in a PDC event happened at the Dutch Darts Masters. Campbell surprised many by beating John Part, who was a world champion three times. He won that match 6–3. In the next round, he faced Mark Cox. Campbell was losing 5–0 but made an amazing comeback to tie the game. However, he lost the very last leg of the match.
Later Career and Achievements
The year 2014 was a bit tough for Campbell. He played in 27 different events but only made it to the last 64 players four times. Even then, he lost his matches at that stage. Despite this, he still managed to win the 2014 Weigh Inn Irish Open. He beat Davy Guy 5–4 in the final. A year later, in 2015, he reached the final of the Weigh Inn Bar Shootout Classic but lost 5–0 to Joshua Richardson.
Campbell Jackson has not played in any professional darts events since January 2016. That was when he tried to get another tour card but was not successful.
Life Outside Darts
When he is not playing darts, Campbell Jackson works as a stonemason. He often travels to darts events with his friend and fellow player, Daryl Gurney, who is also from Northern Ireland.
