Campo Verde is a small community located in Starr County, Texas, in the United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area that the U.S. Census Bureau defines for collecting population information. It is not an officially incorporated town or city. Campo Verde was created as a new CDP before the 2010 census. It was once part of the La Rosita CDP.

Students in Campo Verde attend schools in the Roma Independent School District. The local elementary school for younger students is Delia Gonzalez (DG) Garcia Elementary School. Older students go to Roma High School, which is the only high school in the district.

Population and People

Campo Verde was first listed as its own census designated place in the 2010 U.S. Census. In 2010, its population was 132 people. By the 2020 census, the population was 111 people.

In 2010, all 132 people living in Campo Verde were of Hispanic or Latino background. In 2020, out of 111 people, 110 were Hispanic or Latino. One person was identified as White alone (not Hispanic). This shows that most people in Campo Verde are of Hispanic or Latino heritage.

Campo Verde was one of ten new CDPs created from the larger La Rosita CDP area. Other new CDPs included Anacua, El Cenizo, Hilltop, La Chuparosa, Los Barreras, Los Ebanos, Miguel Barrera, Rancho Viejo, and Tierra Dorada.
