How Campton Hills Became a Village
Campton Hills officially became a village on May 14, 2007. This happened after people living in the area voted for it. About 55 percent of voters said "yes" to becoming a village. The new village covered parts of Campton and Plato townships. It also included the small community of Wasco.
Early Changes and Growth
After the village was formed, some areas on its edges decided to leave. This was allowed by state law during the first year. By August 2009, the village was a bit smaller, covering about 17.16 square miles.

Students in Campton Hills attend schools from three different school districts. Most students go to schools in St. Charles Community Unit School District 303. The northern part of the village is served by Central Community Unit School District 301. A small area in the southwest is part of the Kaneland Community Unit School District 302.
Village Leaders: The First President
Patsy Smith was the first president of Campton Hills. She was also one of the people who helped create the village. Later, there was some confusion about election rules. In 2015, Patsy Smith ran for re-election but lost. Harry Blecker, who was a village trustee, became the new village president.
