Wasco is a small place in Illinois, located about 40 miles west of Chicago. It used to be its own community. But in 2007, it became part of the village of Campton Hills. Wasco is in Kane County.
Today, Wasco has a post office with ZIP Code 60183. You can also find a few restaurants and an elementary school there. The community is right along Illinois Route 64. It's about 4 miles west of St. Charles. The area around the main part of Wasco is mostly homes.

Wasco has a long and interesting history. It was first called "Campton." This name came from an early family who settled in the area.

The first post office in Wasco was built in 1836. A preacher named Dr. King built it on King's Mill Road. This was near a place called Lake Campton. Later, in 1890, the post office moved to its current spot on Illinois Route 64.
Over the years, this building has changed a lot. It has been used for many different things.
