Canadian Ultimate Championships facts for kids
The Canadian Ultimate Championships (CUC) is a big annual tournament for the sport of Ultimate Frisbee in Canada. It's like the national championship for Ultimate! This exciting event is put on by Ultimate Canada and the local Ultimate club in the city where the games are played.
Before 2016, all the different age and skill groups played their games in the same place. But since 2016, the "mixed" teams (teams with both male and female players) have their own separate championship event.

Different Divisions and Champions
At the CUC, teams compete in different groups, called "divisions." This makes sure teams play against others who are similar in age or skill.
- Open Division: This is for any team to join, usually made up of male players.
- Women's Division: This is for teams made up of female players.
- Mixed Division: These teams have both male and female players on the field at the same time.
- Junior Divisions: These are for younger players, usually under 19 years old. There are Junior Open, Junior Girls, and sometimes Junior Mixed divisions.
- Masters Divisions: These are for older, more experienced players. There are Masters Open and Masters Women divisions.
Each year, teams from across Canada compete in these divisions to become the national champion. Many different teams have won titles over the years, showing how strong Ultimate is across the country!
