Candarave is a town located in the Tacna Region of southern Peru. It is an important place because it is the capital of the Candarave Province. This means it's the main town for the surrounding area.
Climate in Candarave
The climate in Candarave is quite interesting, especially because of its high elevation. The town is located about 3,415 meters (or 11,204 feet) above sea level. This high altitude affects the weather throughout the year.
Temperature
Candarave generally has mild temperatures. During the day, the highest temperatures usually range from about 15°C to 18°C (59°F to 64°F). The warmest months are typically October and November.
Nights are much cooler, especially in the middle of the year. From May to August, the lowest temperatures can drop to around 1°C to 2°C (34°F to 36°F). This means it can get quite chilly, so warm clothes are needed!
Rainfall
Candarave does not get a lot of rain overall. Most of the rain falls during the summer months in the Southern Hemisphere, which are January and February. These months can see around 60 to 70 millimeters (about 2.4 to 2.8 inches) of rain.
For the rest of the year, especially from April to November, the town is very dry. There is usually less than 5 millimeters (0.2 inches) of rain each month during this period. This dry climate is typical for many high-altitude regions in Peru.
