Canon Sportif de Yaoundé, often called Canon Yaoundé, is a professional football club from Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon. The club started in 1930. They play their home games at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.
Canon Yaoundé had its most successful time in the 1970s and 1980s. During this period, they were a very strong team in Cameroonian and African football. They won many important titles, including national championships and African cups.

Canon Yaoundé is known for its exciting matches against Tonnerre Kalara Club (TKC) of Yaoundé. This rivalry is famous in Cameroonian football. TKC was even formed by some people who left Canon Yaoundé a long time ago.
Famous Players and Coaches
Many great players have played for Canon Yaoundé. These include captain Theophile Abega and Jean-Paul Akono. Jean-Paul Akono later became a coach for the Cameroon national team. He led them to win a gold medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
For a while, the team was not playing in the top leagues. This was due to some problems with how the club was managed. However, Canon Yaoundé has been working hard to get back to the top. They have made changes to their management and money matters. They are now aiming to win the MTN Elite One title again.
