What Was Tungston Plantation?

Making Tung Oil

Every year, workers would harvest the nuts from the tung trees. These nuts were then taken to a mill in Capps. At the mill, the nuts were processed to make tung oil. This oil was very useful and was used to make things like paints, varnishes, and other products. During those years, Tungston Plantation was the biggest tung oil operation in the entire United States owned by one person.
