Carl Tart was born in Mississippi but grew up in Los Angeles. He is a regular performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in LA. This is a famous theater where many comedians learn and perform improv comedy. Since 2013, he has been part of an improv group called The Big Team.

Carl has appeared on many popular comedy podcasts. He is a frequent guest on Comedy Bang! Bang!. On this show, he plays many funny characters.
