Carlos José Barisio (born 3 January 1951 – died 5 February 2020) was a famous Argentine goalkeeper. A goalkeeper is the player who protects the team's goal. He played professional football for many years. Carlos Barisio retired from the sport in 1987. By then, he had played in 271 matches. These matches were in the Argentinian Primera, which is the top football league in Argentina.

Carlos Barisio's Football Career

Carlos Barisio played for several important clubs. He started his career with River Plate in 1968. He played there until 1974. Later, he joined Gimnasia de La Plata in 1975. He also played for All Boys from 1976 to 1978.

Time at Ferro Carril Oeste

One of his most notable times was with Ferro Carril Oeste. He played for this club from 1978 to 1983. In 1981, while playing for Ferro Carril Oeste, he made history. He set a new record in the Primera División. This record was for the longest time a goalkeeper went without letting in a goal. It was an amazing achievement for him and his team.

Later Career and Retirement

After his time at Ferro Carril Oeste, Carlos Barisio played for Boca Juniors in 1983. He then moved to Deportivo Armenio in 1984. His career continued with Chacarita Juniors from 1986 to 1987. He finished his professional playing career in 1987. Later, he played for Belgrano de Parana from 1988 to 1989.
