Carlos Guerrero is a retired Mexican racing driver. He was born on November 20, 1957, in Mexico City, Mexico. Carlos became a champion many times in racing series like Formula Three and Formula Two in his home country.
Later in his career, Carlos raced in a big North American series called CART. He competed in the 1995 and 1996 seasons. He started 17 races in total.

Racing in America
The Indianapolis 500
One of his most famous races was the 1995 Indianapolis 500 in 1995. This is a very important race in American open-wheel racing. Sadly, Carlos was involved in a crash on the very first lap. This meant he didn't complete a single lap in the race. He is one of only a few drivers to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 just once and not finish a lap.
CART Career Highlights
Even though the Indianapolis 500 didn't go well, Carlos had other races in CART. His best finish was 11th place. This happened at the 1995 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Mexican Racing Champion
Before racing in CART, Carlos Guerrero was a very successful driver in Mexico. He won the Mexican Formula Three Championship in 1990. He also won the Mexican Formula Two Championship for two years in a row, in 1991 and 1992. He then won the Mexican Formula Three Championship again in 1993 and 1994. These wins showed he was one of the best drivers in Mexico.
