Carlos del Barrio (born on August 15, 1968) is a Spanish rally co-driver. Think of a co-driver as the navigator in a rally car. They help the driver know where to go and how fast, reading notes about the road ahead. Carlos is currently working with Dani Sordo and they race for Hyundai in the exciting World Rally Championship.
Carlos's Rally Journey
Carlos del Barrio started his rally career in 1991. He worked as a co-driver for many different drivers in the early years.
In 2011, he teamed up with Dani Sordo for the Mini WRC Team. This was a big step in his career.
A special moment happened in 2013 Rallye Deutschland. Carlos and Dani Sordo won their very first race in the WRC! They finished 53 seconds ahead of another top driver, Thierry Neuville.
After 2013, Carlos and Dani stopped working together for a while. But they reunited in 2018 and have been racing for Hyundai Motorsport ever since.
