Carly Booth (born on June 21, 1992) is a Scottish professional golfer. She is known for being the youngest Scot ever to join the Ladies European Tour. She achieved this amazing feat at just 17 years old in 2009. Carly also became the youngest ladies' club champion in Britain when she was only 11 years old!

Early Life and Golf Beginnings

Carly Booth grew up in Comrie, Scotland. Her family loved golf, and her father, Wally, even built a golf course just for Carly and her brother, Wallace, on their farm! Wally was a talented athlete himself, winning a silver medal in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games.

Carly also spent time in America. She trained at the David Leadbetter Academy in Florida. Later, she went to a school in Arizona. When she became a professional golfer, she was still finishing her golf scholarship at Glenalmond College in Scotland.

Carly's Amazing Amateur Career

Carly Booth was a golf superstar even before she turned professional. People called her a "golfing prodigy" in Scotland. When she was only 12, she played with famous golfer Sandy Lyle in a special event. At 14, she competed in her first professional tournament, the Ladies Scottish Open, and finished in 13th place!

In 2007, Carly was ranked the number one junior golfer in Europe. This was after she won the European Junior Masters. That same year, she also won the Scottish Under-18 and Under-21 titles.

A big moment for Carly was in 2008. She became the youngest player to represent Great Britain & Ireland in the Curtis Cup. This is a special golf match against the United States. She also played in the Junior Ryder Cup in both 2006 and 2008. Carly won the Daily Telegraph Finals twice, in 2007 and 2008.

Becoming a Professional Golfer

Carly Booth officially became a professional golfer in 2009. She made her first professional appearance on the Ladies European Tour in 2011. This was at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.

She won her first professional tournament in May 2012. This was the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. Just a month later, in June, she won again at the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open.
