Carly Booth (born 21 June 1992) is a Scottish professional golfer. She became a professional golfer at a young age. In 2009, when she was 17, she became the youngest Scot ever to qualify for the Ladies European Tour. Before that, at just 11 years old, Booth became the youngest ladies' club champion in Britain at Dunblane New.

Carly Booth's Early Life

Carly Booth grew up with a strong connection to golf. After spending time in America, including at David Leadbetter's golf academy in Florida, she returned to Scotland. She then attended Glenalmond College on a golf scholarship.

Her father, Wally, was a Commonwealth Games silver medalist in wrestling. He even built a special golf course for Carly and her brother, Wallace, on their family farm near Comrie. This allowed them to practice golf whenever they wanted.

Carly Booth's Amateur Golf Career

Carly Booth had a very successful amateur career. Many people called her a "golfing prodigy," meaning she was incredibly talented at a young age. When she was 12, she played golf with famous golfer Sandy Lyle in a special event called the British Masters Pro-Am.

At 14, she played in her first professional tournament, the Ladies Scottish Open, and finished in 13th place. In 2007, she was ranked the number one junior golfer in Europe after winning the European Junior Masters. That same year, she also won the Scottish Under-18 and Under-21 titles.

In 2008, Carly made history by becoming the youngest player to represent Great Britain & Ireland in the Curtis Cup. This is a big golf competition against the United States. She also played in the Junior Ryder Cup in 2006 and 2008. She won the Daily Telegraph Finals in both 2007 and 2008. In 2010, she did well enough at the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School to earn her spot for the 2010 season.

Carly Booth's Professional Golf Career

Carly Booth officially started her professional golf career on the Ladies European Tour in 2011. Her first professional tournament was the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.

She achieved her first professional win in May 2012 at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. Just a month later, in June, she won her second event, the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open. Carly earned her third win on the Ladies European Tour in August 2019, when she won the Tipsports Czech Ladies Open.
