Carmen Guarini (born January 18, 1953) is an Argentine expert. She is an anthropologist, a teacher, and a filmmaker. She makes and directs documentary films. These films often focus on people and cultures. This is called visual anthropology.
Carmen teaches at important places in Argentina. These include the Fundación Universidad del Cine and the University of Buenos Aires. She also teaches in Cuba. She helps decide which documentary projects get support. She works with the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts. She is also part of the Cine Ojo film projects.

Her Education and Early Work
Carmen Guarini studied a lot to become an expert. She earned her Ph.D. at the Paris West University Nanterre La Défense in France. In 1988, she learned about making anthropological films. She studied with famous filmmakers like Jean Rouch. She also took special classes with Fernando Birri and Jorge Prelorán.
Teaching and Research
Carmen is a researcher at CONICET. This is a big science and technology council in Argentina. She is also a professor of Visual Anthropology. She teaches at the University of Buenos Aires.
