Carnarvon is a small, unincorporated community located in Sac County, in the state of Iowa, United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.
A Look Back: Carnarvon's History
Carnarvon got its start a long time ago. A post office, which helps send and receive mail, opened here in 1888. This was an important step for the community.
The name 'Carnarvon' comes from a place called Caernarfon in Wales. One of the first people to settle here came from that Welsh town.
In 1940, about 111 people lived in Carnarvon.
