History of Carnforth
Carnforth has a short but interesting history. It first got a post office in 1884. Back then, it was called 'Manatt.' But just two months later, its name was changed to Carnforth.
How Carnforth Got Its Name
The name 'Carnforth' was chosen by a railroad official. He picked it from a book he was reading at the time. This shows how everyday things can inspire place names! The post office in Carnforth closed down in 1907.
