Carole Emily Barrowman (born 20 April 1959) is a Scottish-American writer and teacher. She is known for writing books, especially with her brother, John Barrowman.
About Carole Barrowman
Carole Barrowman teaches English at Alverno College in Milwaukee. She also reviews books, especially mystery stories, for a newspaper called the Milwaukee Sentinel.
Many people know Carole because she writes books with her younger brother, John Barrowman. John is a famous actor, singer, and dancer. He is well-known for playing the character Jack Harkness in the TV shows Doctor Who and Torchwood.
Writing with John Barrowman
Carole helped write John's life story, called Anything Goes, which came out in 2008. She listened to his stories and wrote them down for the book.
In 2009, they worked together again on another book about John's life, called I Am What I Am.
The Barrowman siblings also wrote a comic strip for Torchwood. It was about Captain Jack Harkness and was called Captain Jack and the Selkie.
The Hollow Earth Series
Carole and John wrote their first novel together, called Hollow Earth. It was published in February 2012. To research the book, Carole visited places on the west coast of Scotland. These places were chosen to be featured in their story.
They continued the Hollow Earth series with more books, including Orion Point and Conflagration. These books are popular with young readers.
Other Writing
Carole also wrote an essay about her brother for a book called Chicks Dig Time Lords. This book won an award called the Hugo Award.
