Carole Emily Barrowman (born 20 April 1959) is a Scottish-American writer and a university professor. She is known for writing many books, especially with her younger brother, actor John Barrowman.
About Carole Barrowman
Carole Barrowman is a Professor of English at Alverno College in Milwaukee, USA. She also helps lead the Creative Studies in Writing program there. Besides teaching, she writes reviews for books and has a special column about crime fiction for the Milwaukee Sentinel newspaper.
Writing with John Barrowman
Carole Barrowman often works with her brother, John Barrowman. John is a famous actor, singer, and dancer. He is well-known for playing the character Jack Harkness in the TV shows Doctor Who and Torchwood.
Books and Comics
Carole helped write her brother's life story, called Anything Goes, which came out in 2008. She also co-wrote his next book, I Am What I Am, published in 2009.
The Barrowman siblings also wrote a comic strip for Torchwood. It was about Captain Jack Harkness and was called Captain Jack and the Selkie.
Their first novel, a fiction book, was titled Hollow Earth. It was released in February 2012. To research this book, Carole traveled to the west coast of Scotland. She visited the real places that she and her brother chose to feature in their story.
Carole also wrote an essay about her brother for a book called Chicks Dig Time Lords. This book won a special award called the Hugo Award.
