Caroline's Cycling Journey

Becoming a Champion

Olympic Dreams and Success

Even though Caroline was one of Australia's best BMX riders in 2008, she was too young to compete in the Olympics that year. After this, she started training in mountain biking too.

In 2012, Caroline focused on BMX to try for an Olympic spot. She won a Supercross round, becoming the first Australian woman to do so. She also had the fastest times in the 2012 World Championships time trial in England. By May 2012, she was ranked the number one women's BMX rider in the world! She was chosen to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's BMX event.

In 2013, she received the Sir Hubert Opperman Trophy. This award is given to Australia's best all-round cyclist. Caroline was the first person from BMX or mountain biking to ever win this special award.

In May 2016, Caroline won the Elite Women's Time Trial at the World BMX Championships in Colombia. She also came in second place in the Elite Women's BMX race.

Recent Competitions and Recovery

Caroline qualified second in the seeding for the 2016 Summer Olympics. However, she had a crash during one of the semi-final races and did not make it to the final.
