History of Carson

Carson was once a busy place because it was located along the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, a major train line. In the past, Carson was home to six general stores, which sold all sorts of goods. There were also two sawmills, where trees were cut into lumber. Many lumber camps were also in the area, providing places for workers to live.
