Carter Cornelius (born October 5, 1948 – died November 7, 1991) was an American R&B musician. R&B music is a popular style that combines elements of soul, pop, and hip hop. Later in his life, he was also known as Prince Gideon Israel.

Music Career
The Band: Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose
Carter Cornelius was from Dania Beach, Florida. He was a member of a music group called Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose. This was a family band that started in 1971. The group included Carter, his brother Eddie, and his sisters Billie Jo and Rose.
Popular Songs
Soon after forming, Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose released their first album. It was called Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose and came out on the United Artists record label. The album became quite popular, reaching number 29 on the pop music charts.
The group also had several hit songs. These included "Treat Her Like A Lady," "Too Late To Turn Back Now," and "Don't Ever Be Lonely (A Poor Little Fool Like Me)." "Don't Ever Be Lonely" was their last big hit song.

In 1976, Carter Cornelius joined a religious group in Miami. He built a special recording studio there. In this studio, he wrote, recorded, and mixed music and videos for the group. He was working on a new song for his comeback when he passed away. Carter Cornelius died on November 7, 1991, at the age of 43, due to a heart attack.
