Casey's Football Journey
Starting Out in Football
Casey Sibosado grew up in Lombadina. This is a small place near Broome in Western Australia. He started his football journey with the Oakleigh Chargers. This team plays in a competition called the TAC Cup. While playing for the Chargers, he also attended Xavier College in Melbourne. He also played for the Northern Territory Thunder in a special under-18 championship in 2008.
Playing in the WAFL
Before joining the AFL, Casey played for clubs in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). This is a major football league in Western Australia. He first played for the Claremont Football Club. In 2010, he moved to the Perth Football Club. He made this move to get more chances to play in the senior team.
His AFL Debut
Casey Sibosado was chosen by the Fremantle Football Club in the 2009 Rookie Draft. This is a special draft for players who are not yet on the main team list.
He made his first AFL appearance in the final game of the 2011 AFL season. He got this chance because another player, Luke McPharlin, was unable to play. Fremantle had many injured players that year. They even needed special permission to let Casey and another player, Joel Houghton, play. This was because they were on the "rookie list" and not the main team.
In his very first AFL game, Casey kicked a goal with his first kick! This was a very exciting moment for him.
After the 2011 season, Casey was "delisted" by Fremantle. This means he was no longer part of the team.
