The Catalan Wikipedia (called Viquipèdia in Catalan) is the version of Wikipedia written in the Catalan language. It was one of the first Wikipedias to be created, starting in March 2001. This makes it the fourth-oldest Wikipedia edition!
It is also one of the largest Wikipedias. It ranks as the 17th biggest Wikipedia based on how many articles it has.
By May 2013, the Catalan Wikipedia had grown to include over 400,000 articles. A few years later, on March 11, 2016, it reached an amazing milestone of 500,000 articles.
