About Catedral Station
Catedral Station is located where Roque Sáenz Peña Avenue meets Florida Street. The station was actually first named 'Florida' because of this street! But now, it's called 'Catedral' because it's very close to the famous Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral. Old maps from 1955 still show its original name, 'Florida'.
This station first opened on June 3, 1937. It was part of the very first section of Line D, connecting Catedral to Tribunales Station. Because of its history and design, Catedral Station was declared a national historic monument in 1997. This means it's a protected site due to its special importance.
Did you know? Catedral Station was even used as a filming location! It appeared in the 1996 Argentine science fiction movie called Moebius.
