Cavalier is a special chocolate company from Belgium. It started in 1996 and is owned by a family. What makes Cavalier unique is that they only make chocolate and biscuits without adding any sugar. They are the only company in Belgium that does this!

Sweet Treats from Cavalier
Cavalier makes many different kinds of chocolate treats. You can find their chocolate in bars and tablets. They also create fun "sea shells" and delicious pralines. Pralines are like small chocolate shells with yummy, soft fillings inside.
Stevia Chocolate: A Sweet Discovery
In December 2011, something exciting happened for chocolate lovers. The European Parliament allowed the use of sweeteners from a plant called Stevia. Stevia is a natural herb that grows in the rainforests of Paraguay and Brazil.
Cavalier was the very first real Belgian chocolate maker to use Stevia in their chocolates. They launched their new Stevia chocolate range in January 2011. This new line included 35 different products and flavors! Plus, these new Stevia chocolates were also Fair Trade certified. This means they were made in a way that helps farmers and workers.
Awards for Innovation
Cavalier introduced their Stevia chocolate at the ISM Show in Cologne, Germany. This show is the biggest trade event in the world for sweets and snacks. In 2012, Cavalier won a special award there. They received the "ISM New Product Showcase Top Innovation Award" for their Fair Trade certified Stevia Chocolate range.
What People Think
The Belgian magazine Brood en Banket (which means "Bread and Pastry") wrote about Cavalier's products. In an article from December 2008, they called Cavalier's chocolates "the best alternative." This shows that people really liked their sugar-free options!
