This street is known for Australian music, tasty food, drinks, art, and history. It's also close to Suncorp Stadium and the center of Brisbane.

The festival used to happen every year in May. It was held on the Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend. But since 2014, it has moved to June. Now, it takes place on the King's Birthday long weekend.

By 2012, more than 15,000 people visited the festival. Money from ticket sales was given to different charities in Queensland. For example, in 2012, funds went to the Wesley Hospital Kim Walters Choices Program.

Music and Fun at the Festival

Besides celebrating Queensland's food and wine, the festival also features a big music event. Since 1994, many famous artists and bands have performed. Some of these include Russell Crowe and 30 Odd Foot of Grunts, 1927, Boom Crash Opera, The Angels, and Gang Gajang.

Other performers have included Little Birdy, Grace Knight, Kevin Borich, and Kram from Spiderbait. Bands like Dukes of Windsor and Calling All Cars have also played. Solo artists such as Don Walker, Tyrone Noonan, and Diana Anaid have entertained the crowds. Even celebrities from TV shows like Australian Idol and Big Brother have appeared.

Helping After the Floods

In 2011, Queensland faced big floods. This inspired an artist named Donna Hawkins. She created a special artwork showing Caxton Street for the festival that year. The festival also helped raise money for flood relief. In 2011, funds went to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal. Later, in 2013, some money was donated to the Queensland Floods Appeal.
