Cecilia Edith Rotenberg Gutkin (born on August 8, 1956), known as Cecilia Roth, is a famous actress from Argentina. She has won many important awards, including two Goya Awards and a European Film Award. People often call her an "Almodóvar girl" because she has worked with the famous director Pedro Almodóvar many times. She was also seen as a "muse" (a source of inspiration) for the musician Fito Páez in the 1990s.

Her Family Background
Cecilia Roth's father, Abrasha Rotenberg, was from Ukraine. He moved to Buenos Aires in the 1930s and worked as a writer and journalist. Her mother, Dina Gutkin, known as Dina Rot, was a singer from Argentina. Cecilia's brother, Ariel Rot, is also a musician. He used to be part of a band called Los Rodríguez and lives in Spain.

Cecilia began acting in Argentina. In 1976, she moved to Spain because of the difficult political situation in her home country. She quickly became very successful in Spanish movies. Some of her early films include Las verdes praderas (The Green Meadows) and Arrebato (Rapture).
