Early Life and Family
Celma Ribas was born in Luanda, Angola, on November 10, 1982. When she was very young, her family moved to Cologne, Germany.
She started to become known for her singing when she was 14 years old, in 1996. She often traveled back to Angola to perform.
Celma Ribas married Adler João on December 29, 2012, in Luanda. Their son, João Rafael, was born on July 9, 2014.
Music Career
Celma Ribas began her music career in 2008. She took part in the German TV show Deutschland sucht den Superstar. This show is like the "Idols" competition in other countries.
She made it to the semi-finals, reaching the top thirty contestants. Even though she didn't win, this show helped her get noticed. She then signed a record deal with the label Semba. Some people thought she didn't make it to the final because of her background.
First Albums
Celma Ribas released her first album, called Energia, in Angola. A producer named Afonso Quintas from Radio Luanda helped promote it.
Her second album, Fantástico, came out in Portugal in 2011. Before the album, she released a single called Commando. This song was even used as the title music for the reality TV show, Big Brother Africa. Other Angolan artists, Big Nelo and Matias Damásio, were also featured on the album. Other popular songs from Fantástico included One Love and Gangsta Love.

In 2015, Celma Ribas released her third album, No Controle. This album was produced by Kelly Key. Celma's music mixes different styles. These include kizomba, semba, R&B, and ghetto zouk.

Her album Karma was released in 2019. It featured other artists like Son of Zua, Dave Wonder, and MC Cabinda. This album was first released in the USA.
