About Celma Ribas
Celma Ribas was born in Luanda, Angola, in 1982. When she was very young, her family moved to Cologne, Germany. Celma started singing when she was just 14 years old, in 1996. She often traveled back to Angola to perform her music.
On December 29, 2012, Celma married Adler João in Luanda. Their son, João Rafael, was born on July 9, 2014.
Celma's Music Career
In 2008, Celma Ribas took part in a German TV singing competition. The show was called Deutschland sucht den Superstar, which is similar to Idols. She made it to the semi-finals, reaching the top thirty contestants. This experience helped her get a record deal with the label Semba.
First Albums
Celma's first album was named Energia. It was first released in Angola. A producer from Radio Luanda, Afonso Quintas, helped promote it.
Her second album, Fantástico, came out in 2011. It was first released in Portugal. A single from this album, Commando, was used as the theme song for the reality show, Big Brother Africa. This song also featured Angolan artists Big Nelo and Matias Damásio. Other popular songs from Fantástico included One Love and Gangsta Love.

Celma's album Karma was released in 2019. It featured artists like Son of Zua, Dave Wonder, and MC Cabinda. This album was first released in the USA. Besides music, Celma also owns and runs her own beauty brand.
