Center of the World is a small, quiet place in Ohio, United States. It is not a big city or town. Instead, it is an "unincorporated community." This means it does not have its own local government like a city does. It is located in eastern Braceville Township, within Trumbull County. You can find it where two main roads, State Route 82 and State Route 5, meet. The community has a few houses and some small shops.

What is Center of the World?

Center of the World is a small collection of homes and businesses. It is found in the eastern part of Braceville Township. The community is built around a crossroads. These roads are State Route 82 and State Route 5. People often see a sign marking the community's entrance.

A Look Back at Its History

How Center of the World Began

The community was started by a man named Randall Wilmot. He was an investor with big ideas. Wilmot wanted Center of the World to become a very important business hub. He hoped it would be a major center in northeast Ohio.

Why It Didn't Grow Big

Wilmot's plans did not quite work out. The railroads were very important for trade and travel back then. They chose the nearby city of Warren as their main hub. Because of this, Center of the World did not grow as planned. It saw a decline in both people and businesses.

Part of a Bigger Area

Center of the World is part of a larger region. This region is called the Youngstown–Warren–Boardman Metropolitan Statistical Area. This area includes parts of Ohio and Pennsylvania. It helps connect Center of the World to bigger cities nearby.
