Chacras de Paysandú is a large countryside area in western Uruguay. Its name means "Ranches of Paysandú". It's located just east and southeast of the city of Paysandú in the Paysandú Department. Even though it's a big area, not many people live there.
Inside Chacras de Paysandú, you'll find two small villages: Esperanza and Porvenir. These villages are like small islands within the larger Chacras de Paysandú area. They are called enclaves because they are completely surrounded by another area.
