Her Life Story

Chadlia Saïda Farhat was born on August 1, 1936. She married Beji Caid Essebsi on February 8, 1958. He was a lawyer who later became a politician. They had four children together. Their two daughters were named Amel and Salwa. Their two sons were named Mohamed Hafedh and Khélil.

She was more visible in her role than the First Lady before her. She was not keen on moving to the official Presidential Palace. This was because it was far from her family.
