Chain of Rocks Park was a fun amusement park located near St. Louis, Missouri. It opened its doors in 1927. For over 50 years, it was a popular spot for families and friends. The park closed down in 1978. It was right across from the famous Chain of Rocks Bridge. Many schools held their picnics and field trips there.
Where Was Chain of Rocks Park Located?
The park was built on high ground. It overlooked the mighty Mississippi River to the east. On its western side was the neighborhood of Glasgow Village.
The park was a favorite place for many people. Especially those living in North St. Louis County and St. Louis City loved to visit.
How to Get to the Park
To reach the park, visitors would drive on Riverview Drive. Then they would turn onto Spring Garden Drive. Finally, they would arrive at 10733 Lookaway Drive. Today, this area is known as Lookaway Court.
