Charles Clunas (born 13 February 1894 – died 8 February 1916) was a Scottish professional footballer. He played as a forward for Clyde in the Scottish League.

Charles Clunas was a talented football player from Scotland. He was born in 1894. Charles played as a forward, which is a player who tries to score goals. He was part of the Clyde Football Club. He played in the top Scottish football league.
Early Life and Family
Charles grew up in Johnstone, Scotland. He went to Johnstone High School. Charles had a younger brother named William. William was also a football player, just like Charles!
Serving in World War I
In October 1914, a big war started. It was called the First World War. Charles decided to join the army to help his country. He became a soldier in the 23rd Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers. He joined the army in Glasgow.
Sadly, Charles Clunas was killed during the war. This happened on 8 February 1916, in Givenchy-lès-la-Bassée, France. He was serving as a lance corporal, which is a junior leader in the army. He was hit by a special type of small bomb called a rifle grenade. Charles was buried in a place called Guards' Cemetery in France.
