Charles Francis Reisner (born March 14, 1887 – died September 24, 1962) was an American film director and actor. He was active in the movie industry from the 1920s to the 1930s.
Charles Reisner was a German-American filmmaker. He directed over 60 movies between 1920 and 1950. He also acted in more than 20 films from 1916 to 1929.

Working with Famous Stars
Reisner worked with some of the biggest stars of his time. He acted alongside the famous Charlie Chaplin. They appeared together in A Dog's Life in 1918. They also starred in The Kid in 1921.
He also directed the silent film star Buster Keaton. They worked together on the movie Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928). Buster Keaton even helped direct this film with Reisner.
Working for MGM Studios
From the late 1920s through the 1940s, Reisner had a special agreement. He worked for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, one of the biggest movie studios.
In 1930, he directed Chasing Rainbows. This was a musical movie. It starred Bessie Love and Charles King.
One of his later famous films was The Big Store (1941). This movie was the last film the famous comedy group, the Marx Brothers, made for MGM.
Later Life and Legacy
Charles Reisner passed away in La Jolla, California. He died in 1962 at the age of 75. He had a heart attack. Reisner left behind a legacy of many films. He helped shape the early days of Hollywood.
