Maria Rosario Bollozos Soriano (born October 14, 1985), known as Charo Soriano, is a talented Filipino athlete and public servant. She is famous for her skills in volleyball, both as a player and a coach. Charo is also one of the people who started the Beach Volleyball Republic, which is a popular outdoor volleyball tournament. Since 2022, she has been serving as a city councilor in Tuguegarao, helping her community. She is also a board member of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation.

Early Life
Charo Soriano was born on October 14, 1985. Her father, Jefferson Soriano, used to be the mayor of Tuguegarao. Her mother's name is Eleanor Bollozos.
Volleyball Career
Charo Soriano played volleyball while she was studying at Ateneo de Manila University. She was part of the Ateneo Lady Eagles team from 2003 to 2008. She played both indoor and beach volleyball during this time.
Coaching and Playing
After her time as a player, Charo became an assistant coach for the Ateneo Lady Eagles from 2012 to 2014. She even led the team to win the Shakey's V-League Season 8, 1st Conference as their head coach.
She also played for several professional teams. In 2013, she played for the Smart Maynilad Net Spikers. She then joined the PLDT Home Ultera Ultra Fast Hitters for the 2014 and 2015 Shakey's V-League conferences.
Beach Volleyball Success
Charo Soriano also had a successful career in beach volleyball. She played in the 2015 PSL Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup and the 2015 Fit To Hit: Philippine Beach Volleyball Invitational.
In 2015, she won a Silver Medal at the 2015 Beach Volleyball Republic Christmas Open. She also represented the Philippines in the 2015 Spike For Peace Women’s International Beach Volleyball, playing with her partner Alexa Micek.
Charo is one of the co-founders of the Beach Volleyball Republic. This organization helps promote beach volleyball in the Philippines. In 2016, she was a playing coach for the BaliPure Purest Water Defenders club.
Political Career
On October 6, 2021, Charo Soriano announced that she would run for a political position. She wanted to become a councilor in her hometown of Tuguegarao.
In the 2022 Philippine local election, she was successfully elected. She started her three-year term as a city councilor on June 30, 2022.
On July 25, 2022, Charo was chosen as the president of the Cagayan chapter of the Philippine Councilors League. This role also made her a special member of the Cagayan Provincial Board.
