Chatham is a small place in Licking County, Ohio, in the United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it doesn't have its own separate local government, like a city or a village. Instead, it's part of the larger county area.
History
Chatham has a history that goes back almost 200 years! When it was first planned out in 1829, it had a different name. It was originally called Harrisburgh.
A few years later, in 1836, a post office opened in the community. This was an important step for the area, as it helped people send and receive mail. At this time, the name of the community officially changed to Chatham. The post office served the residents of Chatham for many years, staying open until 1894.
