Chefette Restaurants is the biggest fast food restaurant chain in the Caribbean island nation of Barbados. It has 14 locations across the island. Chefette is famous for its tasty broasted chicken meals. They also make a special local wrap called a "roti." This roti is filled with curried meat and vegetables.
The company's main colors are yellow and purple. Many Chefette restaurants are designed to be "family restaurants." They have fun play areas for children, much like other big international chains.

The Story of Chefette
Chefette was started by a businessman from Trinidad and Tobago named Assad John Haloute. He worked with members of the Naime and Nadur families. They moved to Barbados in the 1970s. In 1972, they opened the very first Chefette Restaurant. It was located in Fontabelle, St. Michael.
Growing Across the Island
The restaurant chain became very popular. Over the next 30 years, Chefette continued to open more restaurants. This helped the company grow and become the largest fast food chain in Barbados.
Chefette's Place in Barbados
Even though Chefette is not well-known outside of Barbados, it is very important there. In 2012, a magazine called Travel + Leisure recognized Chefette. They named it one of the Top Fast Food chains. This was a big honor for the Barbadian company.
