All About the Cherry Penda Tree
What Does It Look Like?
The cherry penda tree can grow very tall. It can reach up to 35 meters (about 115 feet) high. Its trunk can become quite wide, around 1 meter (about 3 feet) across.
The leaves of the cherry penda are simple and shiny. They are dark green on top. The underside of the leaves is a lighter green color. Each leaf is shaped like a spear or an oval. They are narrow at the bottom and have a slightly blunt point at the tip.
Where Does It Grow?
You can find the cherry penda tree along the east coast of Queensland. It grows in an area between Cooktown and Tully. This tree prefers areas with well-established rainforests.
It can grow from sea level all the way up to about 1,100 meters (around 3,600 feet) in altitude. This shows how adaptable the cherry penda tree is to different elevations within its rainforest home.
