Early Life and Education
Cheryl Glenn was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She went to public schools in Baltimore. She graduated from Western High School in 1969. Later, she studied paralegal studies at the Community College of Baltimore County. She also studied labor relations at the George Meany Institute.
Before becoming a politician, Ms. Glenn worked in the labor movement. She was the Political Director and a lobbyist for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters. Before that, she was the President of the City Union of Baltimore from 1988 to 1996. She was married to Benjamin Glenn and has five children and eight grandchildren. She is also raising her granddaughter, Taylor Bishop.
Serving in the Maryland House of Delegates
After a long career helping workers, Cheryl Glenn was elected to the Maryland General Assembly. This is the state's law-making body. She became a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, which is like the House of Representatives for the state.
She was one of three people chosen to represent the 45th district in east Baltimore. Even though it was her first time running for a state office, she won the election. She started serving on January 10, 2007.
Committee Work and Leadership
When she first joined the House of Delegates, Ms. Glenn worked on the Environmental Matters Committee. This committee deals with issues like housing, local government, and transportation. In 2014, she moved to the Economic Matters Committee. This committee focuses on business and money-related topics.
Cheryl Glenn also held important leadership roles. She was the chair of the Baltimore City Delegation. This group represents Baltimore City's interests in the state legislature. She was also a member of the Women Legislators of Maryland. She used to be the chair of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland, a group that supports African American lawmakers.

During her time in office, Cheryl Glenn helped create and support several important laws:
- She helped pass the Baltimore City Public Schools Construction and Revitalization Act of 2013. This law provided $1.1 billion to build new schools in Baltimore City.
