History of the Museum
The museum has been located inside a historic building called the A Block at Chester Castle since 1972. This building itself is very old and important. It is officially recognized as a Grade I listed building, which means it's a really special historical site.
Inside the museum, you can explore the history of four main British Army groups. These groups have strong ties to Cheshire, and their stories go all the way back to 1685! You'll learn about the Cheshire Regiment, the Cheshire Yeomanry, the 3rd Carabiniers, and the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards. The museum also covers the Eaton Hall Officer Cadet School.
