Chiara Charlotte Mastroianni (born on May 28, 1972) is a French actress and singer. She is well-known for her roles in many films. Chiara is the daughter of two famous actors, Marcello Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve.

Early Life and Family
Chiara Mastroianni was born in Paris, France. Her parents are the famous French actress Catherine Deneuve and the Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni. They separated when Chiara was two years old. She has mentioned that she never saw her parents together as a couple.
Chiara has two half-siblings. Her half-brother, Christian Vadim, is from her mother's side. Her half-sister, Barbara Mastroianni, is from her father's side. Chiara is also connected to the well-known Dorléac family of actors through her mother. This family includes her grandparents, Maurice Dorléac and Renée Simonot, and her aunts, Françoise Dorléac and Sylvie Dorléac.
Acting Career
Chiara Mastroianni started her acting career in 1993. Her first big film was My Favorite Season, where she acted alongside her mother. For this role, she was nominated for a César Award, which is a major film award in France.
Early Film Roles
In 1994, she appeared in the movie Prêt-à-Porter. Her first main role was in 1995 in Le Journal du séducteur. She also worked with actor Melvil Poupaud in several films, including Three Lives and Only One Death (1996) and Time Regained (1999). In Three Lives and Only One Death, she even played the daughter of her real-life father, Marcello Mastroianni.
Later Film Work
Chiara continued to act in many French films. She also appeared in the American film Nowhere in 1997. In 1999, she starred in The Letter. She also had roles in films like Hotel (2001) and Carnages (2002).
In 2016, Chiara Mastroianni was chosen to be a judge for the main competition at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. In 2019, she won the Best Performance award at the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival for her role in On a Magical Night. In 2024, she was a jury member at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
Working with Others
Chiara Mastroianni often works with French filmmaker Christophe Honoré. She has been in many of his films, starting with Love Songs in 2007.
She also frequently acts with her mother, Catherine Deneuve. They have played mother and daughter characters on screen many times. Some of their notable films together include Persepolis, A Christmas Tale, and Three Hearts.
Chiara also collaborated on music with her former husband, musician Benjamin Biolay. They released an album called Home in 2004.
Personal Life
Chiara Mastroianni has two children. Her son, Milo Thoretton, was born in 1996. Her daughter, Anna Biolay, was born in 2003. Anna's father is singer Benjamin Biolay, whom Chiara was married to from 2002 to 2005.
