Chiara Pierobon facts for kids

Chiara Pierobon (born 21 January 1993 – died 1 August 2015) was a talented Italian professional racing cyclist. She sadly passed away due to a serious health issue, believed to be a blood clot in her lungs. Chiara became unwell while traveling with her cycling team, Top Girls Fassa Bortolo, to a race called the Sparkassen Giro in Germany. Before she passed away in 2015, Chiara had some great results. She finished seventh in the Giro del Trentino Alto Adige-Südtirol race and ninth in the Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria.

Her Cycling Career

Chiara became a professional cyclist in 2013. She rode for the Top Girls Fassa Bortolo team. As a professional, she competed in many challenging road races. She was known for her dedication and hard work.

In 2015, Chiara was having a strong season. She achieved impressive results in important races. Finishing seventh in the Giro del Trentino Alto Adige-Südtirol showed her skill. Her ninth-place finish in the Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria was also a great achievement. These results proved she was a rising star in women's cycling.

A Sad Loss

On August 1, 2015, while traveling to a race in Germany, Chiara became very ill. She was with her team, Top Girls Fassa Bortolo. Sadly, she passed away at the age of 22. The cause was believed to be a pulmonary embolism. This is a serious medical condition where a blood clot blocks an artery in the lungs. Her passing was a great loss to the cycling world.
