He was a strong defender who played for several important Scottish clubs. After his playing career, he also spent some time as a football manager.

Chic McLelland's Early Life and Career

Chic McLelland started his football journey in youth clubs. He played for Eastercraigs before becoming a professional player. His skills as a defender quickly became clear. He was known for his strong play and dedication on the field.

Playing for Aberdeen F.C.

Chic McLelland began his professional career with Aberdeen in 1973. He played for them until 1979. During his time at Aberdeen, he was a key part of the team's defense. He played in 154 games and even scored 3 goals, which is quite good for a defender! Playing for a big club like Aberdeen helped him gain valuable experience.

Moving to Motherwell and Dundee

After leaving Aberdeen, Chic joined Motherwell in 1979. He played there for two seasons, appearing in 51 matches and scoring 1 goal. His time at Motherwell showed his continued ability to perform at a high level. In 1981, he moved to Dundee, where he played for two years. He played 16 games for Dundee before moving on.

Years at Montrose F.C.

Chic McLelland spent the longest part of his career at Montrose. He joined them in 1983 and stayed until 1990. During these seven years, he played in 176 matches. Representing Scotland Under-23
