Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3 is a fun children's book. It was written by Bill Martin, Jr. and Michael Sampson. The book is special because it features numbers that act like people!
What the Story is About
The story begins with the number 0. He really wants to climb an apple tree. But then, numbers from 1 to 20 start climbing up. Number 5 even wears a cool top hat!
Next, numbers like 30, 40, all the way to 90, join them. Number 70 has long hair. Finally, 99 climbs up too. As more numbers climb, 0 starts to wonder if there will be any space left for him.
Suddenly, a group of bumblebees arrive. They say it's their tree! The bees fly around, counting backward. This makes almost all the numbers fall out of the tree. Number 10 hides, but 99 falls out first. Some numbers get a little hurt: 11 gets bent, 8 gets a crack, and 6 gets twisted.
Now, 0 knows exactly where he belongs. He bravely climbs to the very top of the tree. He joins with 10 to form the number 100! This big number scares all the bumblebees away. All the other numbers then come back and cheer for 10 and 0. They are very proud of their bravery!
