Choloma is a city and a special area (called a municipality) in the Cortés region of Honduras. It's the third-biggest city in Honduras. About 296,952 people lived there in 2023.
Many factories are in Choloma. This is because it's a good place for businesses to set up. These factories help the city's economy grow a lot. Choloma is located between two other important cities: Puerto Cortes to the north and San Pedro Sula to the south. Buses make it easy to travel to other towns. Many big international companies have factories here. Some are in special "tax-free zones" which encourage businesses to come.
Sports in Choloma
Choloma has its own professional football (soccer) team called Atlético Choloma. They played in Honduras's top football league from 2011 to 2013. Their home games are played at the Estadio Rubén Deras stadium.
